On Sunday 3rd May the countdown was over and it was time for the Truly Marvellous Wedding Fair to open its doors!
Backstage there was hair, make-up and dressing room madness, meanwhile lots of lovely visitors made their way around our two marquees of fabulously creative suppliers, the delicious eat street and beautiful woodland tearoom! It really was a truly marvellous day and we must say that it is all thanks to everyone who came along, exhibited and helped to put the day together.
The day saw plenty of exciting happenings, all of which helped to make the day a truly marvellous and unique event. All the castings and rehearsals really paid off with our two packed fashion shows. 35 beautiful models graced the stage in the finest couture from Bury Bridal Rooms, Vania Couture, Love Couture, Coes and BHS. Bridesmaids, Grooms, Brides and Mothers of the Bride strutted, danced and completely owned the stage, wowing the audiences twice over! Plus we had live music from the brilliant Jade MayJean Peters and The Testosta Tones. A huge thanks to everyone involved and to Vikki from Dove Models and Toni & Guy Eastern Group, for all your work on what really was a Truly Marvellous Fashion Show.
Our ‘Best Stand’ winner was crowned after judges spent the day reviewing all of the marvellous efforts from the exhibitors, everyone was truly fantastic so well done indeed to the winners, Wagtail Productions.
We also had several culinary delights happening throughout the day…Eat Street led the way with brilliant foodie suppliers serving up their finest street food cuisine, while those who ventured on the ever-popular Farm Tours found themselves at Kenton Hall Estate’s Food Hub sampling fine canapés by the marvellous Peter Harrison. Of course there was tea and cake in the woodland tearoom from the fair hand of the Cragg Sisters of Aldeburgh, as well as some fantastic Wine Tasting sessions with the superb Cellar 27!
Here at Truly Marv we also like to reward those who are brilliant at shouting about all things Truly Marvellous, so our Social Media Champion award went to the lovely Bridget Garrett, wedding celebrant, who was the queen of Facebook on the run-up to the fair!
The fair saw the return of the Truly Marvellous Forum with national award winning Caroline Gould. Once again Caroline was interviewing some of the industry’s best, getting the inside knowledge just for you. A massive thank you to Caroline and all her lovely interviewees for sharing their secrets in the forum this year!
So while there was a little rain, we must say, it really was a brilliant day! To all who attended or exhibited, we want to say a massive Thank You and we really hope you had Truly Marvellous time!
